Thanks for turning on the tap!
Randy loves doing his weekly radio show Vinyl Tap and it seems audiences are loving it too! A recent CBC Radio report cited his show for "unprecedented growth." The Vinyl Tap audience is growing as listeners tune in to both the CBC Radio One and Sirius Satellite Radio to listen. Congrats to Randy, his wife Denise, and producer Tod Elvidge for bringing us such great shows... now over 125 weeks on air.
"For years as I've traveled the world, I've bought all kinds of great music only to get home and play it a few times and then move on to the next trip and gathering more. Now I know why I did it in the first place -- I was preparing to do Randy's Vinyl Tap Radio! Now to troll through my archives of vinyl, tapes and CD's and play some of this music for the Vinyl Tap audience is so rewarding. It's become a very integral part of my life to appear in living rooms, kitchens, cottages and all kinds of vehicles every Saturday night and share these musical moments.
I appreciate all the real mail and emails (which Denise replies to) and all the show ideas that people send in. I enjoy finding the themes or glue that holds these tunes together and forms the framework for each show. Most of the music is important to me as I know the artist, the songwriter, the producer or something about it from my personal experience. I love sharing these stories. Denise keeps it all accurate by pinpointing dates, times, names and facts for me so I don't put my foot in my mouth too often.
It is a complete surprise to me that this summer replacement show has become a fixture in my life and in the life of so many fans and listeners.
I think this can go on and on. What do you think?"

Randy and Burton salute their idols with their new CD re
lease JUKEBOX!
Out NOW!!!
You know that feeling you get when you hear a song on the car radio and you have to turn it up... and sing al
ong??? And if it isn't over when you've parked -- you just HAVE to stay in the car and listen 'til the end?
That's the kind of inspiration that led Randy and Burton to first pick up their musical instruments back when
they were young lads. And it is the inspiration behind their incredibly infectious new CD Jukebox.
After legendary careers, with numerous hit songs of their own, Randy and Burton have gone back into the stud
io to record an homage to their musical idols. with songs that take us back to their roots - and to a time of
innocence and youth. Elvis, Fats and Dylan - on this CD you hear the power of the music that changed North A
merican popular culture. even shaped our world.
A wonderfully nostalgic listen, Jukebox harkens back to the era of community club dances, high school gym dan
ces and the Sock Hop -- where Randy and Burton first honed their burgeoning performance skills. If you want
to dance - put this CD on and get the party started!

JazzThing II
Jazzthing II
JazzThing II presents a compelling combination of four different guitar voices: Randy Bachman and the formidable guitarists of New G
uitar Summit join forces on this live-off-the-floor recording. The great Duke Robillard, Jay Geils, Gerry Beaudoin and Randy Bachman
are each legendary guitarists in their own rights - through their interplay on this CD you hear the range of character the guitar c
an take on as each of them takes turn soloing in their unique and undeniable style. The CD features some great old jazz standards,
a couple of Randy Bachman original tunes and sublime covers of the classic rock songs Runaway and Randy's signature tune Takin' Care
of Business. Over 45 minutes of guitar greatness!
When Randy was a teenager he crossed paths with a young guitarist who would influence his guitar playing and in fact, the c
ourse of Randy's life. The young genius guitarist Lenny Breau lived near Randy in his hometown of Winnipeg. Randy sought o
ut this prodigy and absorbed as much about guitar as he could from him. Lenny's jazz influence can be heard clearly on Rand
y's hits songs Lookin Out For # 1 and Blue Collar.
Lenny went on to be revered as a genius in the guitar world, but sadly, died a tragic and early death. Randy has founded a
record label which releases otherwise forgotten Lenny Breau music.
In 2004 Randy released JazzThing - a CD of mostly original tunes Randy wrote, in the style of traditional Jazz. This creati
ve direction Randy likens to returning to the crossroads and journeying down the road not taken. He released the CD, embark
ed on a tour of small jazz clubs across Canada and had to practice he says for two hours every night, for weeks prior to th
e tour in order to get his guitar playing up to the level he felt would do the music justice. The CD has sold strongly and
steadily over the last few years and now Randy continues the artistic thread with his new release JazzThing II.
